We admit it, we messed up. Back in June, as sample KOR ONE units were rolling off the production line, everything looked good for an August first launch. The ONE just needed a little fine tuning to give it the precision feel we had set out to achieve from the beginning. We consulted with our design and engineering teams and decided we had plenty of time. So we launched our website and shouted from the rooftops that the KOR ONE would be available on August first. But that day came and went, and as many of you have noticed, the ONE was nowhere to be found.
What happened? Frankly, we underestimated the amount of time it would take to bring the ONE up to our high standards. Delaying the launch was a painful decision. We were incredibly excited about the ONE and couldn’t wait to share it with the rest of the world. But we couldn’t do so until we felt it was ready. The good news is that we are now very close and are committed to making the ONE available by the end of September.
We’d like to take this opportunity to apologize for the delay and to tell those of you who are still waiting how much we appreciate your patience. Despite the hardship, this has been a good lesson for us. In the future, we’ll strive to do better. And while we may never be perfect, we want you to count on us for straight answers when we’re not.

2Sure, just fill out our RSVP form. That will reserve your spot in line. Here’s the link: http://www.korwater.com/buyONE

3I’ve been on the RSVP list since I found out about this months ago (July or June?). I’m so super stoked to buy one of these! I have been waiting to buy a good-looking water bottle for a while. While researching, I found various metal ones and the KOR ONE. I decided on the KOR ONE and have been anxiously waiting. I also have told my girlfriend that I’m buying her one as a present.
But August came and went and…no KOR ONE. I was getting impatient. Thanks for the blog update, because I was just about ready to give up and label KOR ONE either vaporware or a scam to get a bunch of valid emails for spam purposes.
Now I just have about two weeks left to wait? Awesome!
Please hurry. I’m getting tired of not having a large amount of water chilled and ready to drink.

5…. but at the same time, please take your time and make it right
The worst thing would be for the 1st round buyers to buy, and then later on there’s a modification to the manufacturing process and thus “updated” for 2nd round buyers….

7As a long time quality professional in medical devices, I can assure everyone that Eric and the team have absolutely made the best decision to do it right the first time. It will be worth the wait I’m sure. (btw, there was another BPA study published and reported on by Reuters two days ago.)

8I am eagerly awaiting the Kor One’s arrival. Curious to know also about when the 1L bottle will be available. I know that there have been problems across the board; will this be an even further setback for that size water bottle? I’m not interested in any other size for myself (I’ll go out to the local convenient store and buy a 1L bottle and use that for months on end. Crazy right?). I’ll probably buy one of the smaller ones for experience sake, as I want to see how the bottle holds up in everyday life, then maybe selling it in the future. I am very excited about this new bottle coming out soon! Getting rid of that nasty plastic chemical is fantastic.

10Great, I can’t wait! 3 questions, though:
1) Is the KOR One designed to be completely leakproof?
2) Will I be able to put the KOR One in the dishwasher? (Please say yes.)
3) Will the KOR One be available in different colors? (I’ve seen preview pictures in both gray and blue… Should I hold out for PINK?)
Thanks!
Eric

11Hey Becca…great questions
Yes….the KOR One is leakproof
Yes….you can put it in the dishwasher (top rack)
Yes….we’ll have other colors in the near future…probably including pink (but we’re only launching with blue/white style)
Hope that helps!

12I have 3 questions:
1 - Does the production process seem to be on track as of right now to be able to ship by the new date?
2 - What size bottle will be available upon launch?
3 - When will the other two sizes be available, given the recent setbacks (approximate date)?

13Hi Evan, thanks for your questions…
1. Everything’s looking good right now
2. We’re launching with the 750ML version
3. We’re just starting on the schedule for new sizes, so this is an open question. A lot of people have asked so we’re working as hard as we can to get them into production, but its going to be a few months at least

Is there any way to confirm that we are on the rsvp list? I signed up several months ago and did receive an email back in early august or so that said you guys were behind, but i haven’t gotten anything since. Can you confirm that if we were on the mailing list that we have a reserved spot in line?

18do the kor stones come with the bottle, like an ipod ingraving?
are there only set words for the stones?
if not- would having a personal kor stone saying ‘why not?’ cost too much to want?
Eric
September 25th, 2008 at 7:36 pm
19Myke - late is late! Seriously, we’re pushing for online sales to be turned on mid-next week. If it slips a day or two we’ll let you know right here on the blog.
Betzilla - the KOR ONE comes with 6 KOR Stones, two (2) of which you can customize yourself with a permanent marker; the other four (4) are KOR created. In the near future, we’ll open up KOR Stones to the entire community online to share Stones and the stories behind them.
Thanks to everyone for being so patient with us!

22Hi there, I’m looking to get 3, maybe 4 of these bottles to add to my groomsmen’s gift set but I’m curious about a few things:
-Will they be delivered by 10/16? (I’m getting married on the 10/18)
- What type of shipping will be used and how much will shipping be?
Thanks and can’t wait to get a hold of one of these great looking (and hopefully performing) bottles.

Seriously everyone- this is the moment we have been waiting for- some longer than others- but the thing is that we are all waiting for the most perfect design out there, and that really means something, even in a water bottle. Because you’ll never find perfection at your local walmart, you have to search for it, and the wait just means one thing- that your product is truly that awesome- and you know damn well that the Kor One is awesome

I’m waiting to place my order of 4 bottles because I’m not sure when you guys are getting your inventory to ship them out. I spoke with Lorena on the phone but she wasn’t too sure of any inventory dates as it appeared she was getting her information from someone else. I live in Nor Cal so I don’t think shipping time would be too long from you guys down in So Cal but I want to give these bottles as part of my groomsmen gifts (in addition to my fiancee wanting one too) so my question to you is if I place my order of 4 do you think I will have them before 10/16 (for meet my need for our 10/18 wedding date), preferbly sooner since I would need some time to get them wrapped up and ready to go. I would have already placed my order since I have RSVP’d but if I can’t get them before 10/16 I’d be giving them this gift after my wedding and I don’t want to do that since they are all out of town guests. Please let me know, thanks so much!!!

94Well IDK if Kor is going to be releasing colors, I know that there is a silver/clear version, and when Outside magazine used the silver/clear version it took on the color of the background, and it looks pretty cool

October 13th, 2008 at 11:41 pm
96Hi Folks, sorry for leaving you hanging - we’ve been gearing up for getting the shipments out and it’s been pretty busy around here. Here are answers to the recent questions:
- We expect the first shipments to go out on Friday
- New colors are in the works, but I think you’ll really love the ice blue/white combination we’re starting out with
- We haven’t done extensive testing in the freezer so we don’t recommend it. We did, however, design the mouth of the KOR ONE to fit ice cubes, so that will hopefully be a good alternative for getting your water chilled
- Jorge, love the idea of a Flickr account where you can upload photos of your KOR. We were actually thinking of hosting something like this on our site. If anyone wants to share their thoughts on this, we’re all ears

98So shipping hasn’t even started yet? Originally they were going to start shipping 7 days after the store opened, that’s slipped to 14 now?
Martin
October 15th, 2008 at 3:56 am
99Well, I ordered my KOR One 12 days ago now, and I sent KOR an email asking when they would ship mine. I got an email this morning stating that it would take another 5-7 business days. This could mean that my order will only be shipped at the end of this month.
I am quite disappointed … this is bad business. You should have the product ready for shipping as soon as you open your online store, so you can ship the orders straight away and keep all the early adopters happy. That’s just my humble honest opinion though.

100Come on now Paul.. I’m as anxious as you are. I think we all know how schedules can slip, especially for a business that’s shipping it’s first item. All the best layed processes and plans always have some kinks when they first get started and there’s quite a learning curve for everyone involved before decent efficiencies can be achieved.
Sorry to the guy who wanted to get these for his groomsmen… would have been a sweet gift. Hey, just print them coupons or something that say “Good for one Kor One BPA-free spring-loaded flip top fancy schmancy water bottle that makes you look as cool as smoking cig’s but without the cancer.”
Patience grasshoppers.. the Kor will ship soon.

101Paul, that’s correct. Shipping starts Friday at the latest, but possibly as early as tomorrow. I’m sorry we disappointed you. We originally advised 5-10 business days. If we start shipping tomorrow then we will actually fall inside that window. Please be assured that everyone is working super hard to make this happen. I hope you will understand!
LazyJ - Its really hard to say what colors are in the cards because our goal is to come up with some real surprises and its early in the process. Expect the unexpected!

102specifically, will a white+clear version come out? (if you can answer). From the flickr photos, I was hoping that the bottle would’ve been white+clear, instead of the white+blue
(which I ordered anyway, but I was hoping it was clear)

107This is going to be an amazing product and will be in our hands shortly. The team behind this product have made sure that it’s able to live up to the considerable hype, and I for one am happy. There’s nothing worse than someone rushing something to market that’s not as good as it could have been.
This will be well worth the wait, even if the wait is longer than most of us had originally hoped. The team has been working on this for years, I’m sure they’re ready moreso than anyone to finally have it on the market.

108Ok… I didn’t get my “Your Kor One has Shipped Email” nor have I seen any money exit my account… so I’m assuming that they started shipping but just didn’t make it to my order. I’m 90606… anyone below, or above see a confirmation email??? Anyone… Bueller….. Bueller??

109All, I wanted to update you on the shipping situation. We started shipping today but the quantities were not as great as we would have liked. Therefore, it’s quite possible you did not receive the confirmation email you expected today. We’ve been paying close attention to your comments and discussing what we could do to make up for this. Here’s what we are going to do: any customer whose order does not ship within our promised 10-day window will receive a coupon code good for 50% off the purchase of their next KOR ONE. These codes will go out in emails starting tomorrow. Your credit card will not be charged until your order ships.
Again, we are deeply sorry for the delays and hope this helps ease the frustration. I also want to emphasize that we take your concerns very seriously and are hugely appreciative of your loyalty and comments.
BTW, we couldn’t let Mario get married without the KOR ONEs for his groomsman. So we airlifted him some pre-production samples that we would not otherwise have been able to sell. His big day is Sunday - please wish Mario a happy wedding!

110Wow!! That’s awesome how you took care of Mario like that… Mario, you is a lucky dogg, congrat’s on getting married!!! Kor, we love you guys.. thanks for keeping in communication supporting your supporters. The coupon for those people whose orders dodn’t ship on time is above and beyond what we would expect…. I’m kind of hoping my doesn’t ship now since my wife knows of the pink bottle on the horizon.
In any case, this is weird for me to say about a water bottle company (ok, you’re more than just a water bottle company), but I’m proud to be a supporter.

112Thank you Catherine, Paul, and Eric…I checked in my hotel room earlier today (Friday) and low and behold was my package from korwater with my 4 bottles was waiting for me at the hotel. I would have posted pictures but with a day before my wedding posting this is about all the time I have. I have to say I love them and I’m sure my groomsmen will (as will everyone else). Thank you for your extra time to ensure I’d get them in time. It means a lot to me and and I know everyone else will be just as happy with them. As soon as I get a breather I will post a pic. :)….btw I wrote this out at about 2pm on Friday but just hit the post your comment button at 3:58am…yes I’m still up cutting up my foam to insert the Kor One in my giftboxes….maybe staying up drinking this late wasn’t the best way to get this done in time…lol…I’m wrapping it up and will post pics when I get around to it soon. So far the the rest of the wedding party who’s seen the bottles are very impressed.

114Since the I first saw the Kor One I thought it was ‘the bomb’, but it didn’t stop there- just reading comments from the blog tells of happiness, and glee- everyone is anxiously awaiting for something beautiful to add to their life- and as Paul said They’re Coming!! But looking beyond the One-The Kor family shipped a batch to Mario (one lucky guy) for his wedding- now that shows some character, I mean how many companies would send out some pre-production models to help someone out? Other companies are in it for the gross sales- and the Kor family- they’re here for US!

115Is the 50% off for the entire next order or just one bottle?
Paul
October 19th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
116LazyJ:
- That’s 50% off one item, not the whole order
- Saw your question about white/clear color combo, and tried to email you about this. The email bounced. Can you check to see if the address you registered is correct?
